Overview of Horizon Communications Technology
Horizon Communications Technology (HCT, https://www.horizoncomm.co/), is a professional,
Internet service provider representing the interests of local ISPs and other Internet providers in Bermuda and its suburbs. The strength of HCT rests on its ability to be truly representative of the Bermudans Internet industry as a whole.
The issue of critically slow Internet, unreliable, and poor Internet services in Bermuda has led to the integration of a blockchain network that will help solve problems that Internet users among the people of Bermuda are facing. This same issue has made a group of well-established and skilled personnel, who are well versed as far as the Internet is concerned, to set up an Internet service provider that will rely on various technologies to better Internet services at an affordable cost. This will be good news for Internet users among the people of Bermuda, simply because, the new Internet Service Provider (ISP) Horizon Communications – a high-speed Internet service provider will be based in Bermuda and serve the entire Caribbean.
Through meetings, negotiation, print, media and press conferences, Horizon Communications Technology brings issues affecting its customers into the limelight, affecting the decisions of policymakers and creating awareness in the general public. HCT aims to effectively lobby the government and regulatory bodies in order to grow the Internet in Bermuda and make it easier for Bermudans to access effective but affordable communications and Internet services.
Horizon Communication Technology will use LTE wireless communication to deliver user communications. Their service will include Internet speeds of up to 150 Mbps in 2018 and 300 Mbps and even faster at the end of 2018 in early 2019.
Again, Horizon will also be using a self-healing combination of wireless microwave and fiber technologies to provide high speed, very low latency transport between our communications towers. The wireless technologies include both licensed 2 Gbps point to point links as well as 10 Gbps millimeter microwave (MMW) point to point communications systems to build a highly resilient mesh network topology. Where available, fiber will be used as a 3rd layer fail over backbone. It is our goal to build and maintain the highest reliability wireless network that will surpass the benefits of traditional fiber networks or coax, while maintaining the ability to expand our network without the need to string wire or fiber across miles of terrain.
Horizon will utilize blockchain technology in quite a number of different areas which are elaborated as follows:
1. Payments - Accepting payments from customers in cryptocurrency, at a discounted rate compared to fiat currency, so as to help further crypto penetration and acceptance
2. Payroll - Paying our employees and contractors in crypto
3. Data Storage - Integrate blockchain technology like Storj or Filecoin into our customer portals to give customers a decentralized file storage solution that is encrypted
4. VPN Services - Working with blockchain VPN solutions like Mysterium or Privatix so that customers have VPN solutions built into their internet service
5. Re-invest into the CryptoCommunity - Horizon aims to re-invest the recommended earnings, under financial advice, into blockchain companies and ICO's that Horizon finds will benefit the company and token buyers.
The entire drive force behind Horizon Communication Technology is going to base on strictly digitalized crypto currency where, customers will be able to make payments for services by using the HRZN token. Employees can also be paid using tokens. The token is planned to be available for trading on different exchanges as well. Blockchain will also be used by Horizon to offer data storage with integrated blockchain technology. Customer portals will have access to encrypted decentralized storage. The Horizon Communication Technology, because of high performance for consumer satisfaction, also plans to offer VPN, or virtual private network services, using blockchain solutions as well.
There is great opportunity for improving the wireless network offerings in the Caribbean region and especially Bermuda. Current offerings in these regions can be very slow and unreliable. Much of the competition can only offer speeds of ten Mbps. Fast and reliable Internet has become essential for many people and businesses. Tourism and cruise ships provide additional opportunity for wireless Internet providers. In 2016, over six hundred thousand tourists visited Bermuda. Horizon plans to offer services for tourists and cruise ship ports.
